The mission of Discovering Many Faiths (DMF), which initially ran from January 2008 through May, 2008, and repeated during ICGR's 2008 - 2009 and 2009 - 2010 program years, is to enable participants to gain insights and appreciation for diverse faiths. This is accomplished through panel discussions among diverse faith practitioners, personal interactions, and opportunities to visit worship services of each featured faith.

During the first half of 2008 we explored the following faiths: Sikh, Jewish, Bahá’í, Episcopal and Eckankar. The second year of this program, 2008-2009, we explored the following faiths: Baptist, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Islam, Jain and Catholic. During 2009-2010 we explored these faiths: Hindu, Unity, Disciples of Christ and Zoroastrian. See below for our schedule for 2010 - 2011.

Over the summer Sharon Clayton and Midge Falconer attended the annual NAIN (North American Interfaith Network) conference in Salt Lake City. It was a wonderful gathering of about 100 people dedicated to The Interfaith Movement. There were many highlights and if you go to the NAIN website (http://www.nain.org) you can read a very comprehensive account of the conference. Sharon and Midge gave a 5-minute PowerPoint presentation on ICGR's DMF Program. The slides from that presentation may be viewed by clicking SLIDE 1.

The University of Richmond's Office of the Chaplaincy is in its second year of co-sponsoring DMF with ICGR and this greatly enhances this new ICGR program. During 2010-2011, as a result of this co-sponsorship, each Discovering Many Faiths (DMF) program will take place at the University of Richmond in the Alice Haynes Room in the Tyler Haynes Commons. The Alice Haynes room is very spacious and more visible than other venues, and, we hope, will attract more students and faculty of U of R. Click HERE for the DMF page at the Office of the Chaplaincy web site.

There will be red DMF signs posted on the campus to help with parking and finding this location.
