Annual Brotherhood/Sisterhood Youth Awards Program
This annual program and luncheon was started by Interfaith Council in 1968 to recognize high school seniors in the Richmond area for qualities of understanding and kindness toward their fellow students who were different from themselves in such ways as race, religion, national origin, etc. It has become one of the highlights of the ICGR year. From 1979 to 1996 the awards ceremony was co-sponsored with the NCCJ. Since 1997 the ICGR sponsors the Youth Awards Program on its own. In February 2005, 48 area schools sent candidates to receive this award.
Interfaith Networking and Research
This committee was established in 1997 to inform the surrounding community of the history, the purpose and the activities of the Interfaith Council of Greater Richmond by way of internet communication. Through our membership in the North American Interfaith Network (NAIN), the committee maintains contact with other interfaith organizations and agencies in Virginia and North America in order to exchange ideas, learn from each other's experience and partake in the effort to enhance interfaith relations locally as well as nationally.

ICGR is currently soliciting its members to be Librarian for our collection of books and tapes. This library help us meet our purpose of better understanding among religions, races and nationalities. Click on Our Activities above or below for information about our meetings.
The listing of books and tapes is now online. Please click TITLE for the listing sorted by Title, or click on AUTHOR/PRODUCER for the listing sorted by Author/Producer.
Speaker's Bureau
Mrs. Sharon Clayton will provide speakers for groups that request one at their meetings. This will enable us to publicize our work in the community and increase our membership. It will also help in making the public more aware of the need for interfaith dialogue and understanding.
